Green Baby Products
Sometime in the eighties, society developed a new understanding of the problems facing the country, the world, and the environment. One of the biggest environmental threats was disposable diapers. Landfills across the country were positively full of the things, and they never disintegrated. They just sat there, moldering and never rotting, taking up valuable space, filling the land from sea to sea. It got that bad because everybody was seduced by the convenience, and they totally didn’t think about what happened to the diaper once they took it off the baby and tossed it away. So a new movement began, which took the focus away from disposable diapers and encouraged new mothers to use cloth diapers, which could be washed and reused over and over. Though even that wasn’t a perfect solution, as many water conservationists argued that it was a major waste of water. The debate eventually died down a bit, but now it’s back, and it’s more focused and urgent than ever.
More and more people are beginning to realize that the toll we’re taking on our environment is very serious indeed. There’s a new movement to become “more green,” to adopt products and policies that minimize the impact we have on the earth and maximize its healing. This is important to many, many different people, including new parents. That is why there are already green baby products on the market. These products are safe, natural items, that minimize the harm having a baby might do to the environment. There is a long list of such products available, and that list is growing all the time with new advances in science.
